The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is very remote and wild and I have always wanted to visit it. A wedding in Michigan provided the perfect excuse :-). Within this peninsula lies Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Resting against the rough shores of Lake Superior, it is a true gem for nature lovers. One of the highlights for us was trekking 3 miles throught the woods to emerge on an amazing beach with towering sandstone cliffs! Its name is Chapel Beach and it was spectacular! We took photos past sunset ... and yes we did hike the 3 miles back though the woods, in the dark, as the light of a full moon danced through the trees :-). It was a magical experience!
The water's of Lake Superior were so amazingly blue!!

Photos and moments captured along the way!

Of course none of our trips seem complete without Purple Bill and Greeny :-)!
Grand Teton National Park

The day before we left for our big trip (postings coming up - think buffaloes - lots of them) we headed out to photograph Ashley's senior portraits. She loves nature and she especially loves cows - a girl after my own heart :-) - and Flagstaff has plenty of both!! We had a great time in the sunflower fields and on the road to Hart Prarie, which is prime cow territory by the way. Thanks so much Ashley! You did a great job and looked beautiful doing it :-)!

Hellooooo ... we are back :-)!!! No we didn't die, we have just been gone for several weeks for both vacation and work and there will be plenty of upcoming postings to show where we have been and what we have been up to. But first we have a couple of postings that we need to post from before we left.
Kelly and Evan are getting married in Flagstaff next May. Neither of them live in state, but they made a trip out this way to get some wedding planning out of the way. They figured that it would be the perfect time to schedule their engagement session, and they couldn't have been more right. A few weeks ago Flagstaff's famous fields of sunflowers were in their full glory and we definitely took advantage. They also wanted some shots around Sedona, so we took them to Merry-Go-Round Rock on Schnebly Hill for sunset - which was quite spectacular by the way! We had a great time guys!!
