The day after the wedding, we met up with Lisa and James for their trash-the-dress shoot. This shoot was totally off the hook. We had such a blast!!
We started at Lisa's parent's farm, which is full of everything imaginable to use as a prop or backdrop for this kind of shoot. We had a lot of fun rummaging through the garage, and with a little help from Lisa's father, we got some crazy shots :-)! The farm equipment was fun too as was the participation of many adorable dogs, including Quizas. Lisa's brother, a photography buff himself, took us to the far reaches of the farm where they grow all sorts of palm trees and we got some beautiful shots in the deep green forests ... not to mention a few mosquito bites :-). The family definitely participated in this event and had fun doing it! We hope they love the photos!!
We finished up the shoot at the beach and WOW, no holding back. When we told them to jump in the water, they jumped. When the waves battered them, they just got back in them again for another take. They were amazing!! I have to say though, I got just as soaked as they did almost ... drenched up to my neck. The water was warm though, kind of like bath water :-). Lisa opted not to keep the crinoline and tossed it in the trash as we left the beach ... made for a cute departing shot!! Thanks so much you two, this was soooooo much fun!!

Lisa and James were married at the Breakers West in West Palm Beach, Florida in October. For fear of writing a novel, I am going to try to keep this somewhat short and sweet ... the posting is extra long and the photos speak for themselves!
From the first contact with Lisa, we instantly hit it off and we eagarly awaited her and Jame's wedding! The couple lives in Chicago but have family in Florida, which is why they chose West Palm as their wedding destination. We met the day before the wedding and were amused at some family member's relief that we "showed up" :-). In all seriousness, both families wecomed us with open arms, and Lisa's family warmly opened up their home to us both on the day of the wedding and for the trash-the-dress shoot the following day. Everyone was so wonderful to be around.
There were many highlights to the wedding day, not the least of which was a traditional Chinese Lion Dance performed immediately after the ceremony as a surprise from Lisa and James to their guests! It was spectacular to watch and total eye candy for any photographer with all the stunning costumes and colors! They also had hookahs and a bubble machine at the reception ... what fun. I LOVE receptions with this much energy, even if I do get smaked around a bit on the dancefloor :-).
The next postng will have highlights from their trash-the-dress shoot and you don't want to miss it! Thank you Lisa and James ... we had an unbelievable time!!

Check out the Lion Dance! It was a spectacular display!

Amazing!!!

Some Hookah fun :-)!!

I love these cake shots!

Tina,
I LOOOOOVE the photos! I There's so many fantastic shots, I can't pick a favorite. I love the cake shots, way more fun than the standard shots you see all the time. The character in the heart is "double happiness" the "symbol" for a wedding. You guys did fantastic work again! I'm so excited!

(12.08.09 @ 01:14 PM)The day before we left Florida, I took Kevin to one of my favorite places ... the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. Not only does it have one of the most impressive displays of alligator and crocodile species in the world, it also has one of the best natural bird rookeries (a communal nesting site) in all of Florida. Afterwards, we headed back down the coast stopping one last time along the way to enjoy the sounds of the ocean ... I really do miss Florida!!
We decided to play tourists and pose with a young gator ... really, I just wanted to hold one - it was so cool :-).

Great pictures Tina, looks like your trip to FL went well. I'm glad you guys had some time to take some fun pictures.
(04.21.09 @ 03:02 PM)I love to play tourist when I go on trips. Even if it's only for 1/2 a day. I'm totally jealous of the alligator farm. Hope you're having fun in FL.
(04.23.09 @ 08:07 AM)We have hit the busy season and I am falling very far behind on my blogging, so for those couples waiting, I promise I will get your shoots up as soon as possible :-).
While we were in Florida, Brittany and Stephen had one last shoot - a spectacular Trash-the Dress shoot. Again, we can't stress enough how much fun these shoots can be ... they are becoming increasingly popular and are highly recommended!!!
Bee and Stephen started the shoot in Downtown Orlando in the Church Street Station district ... I personally love the ice cream shots :-). From there we headed out to Blue Springs State Park where they got down and dirty - and just a little water-logged.
Thank you both so much!! It was such a blast and we just love you guys! Hope you love them as much as we do :-)!!

Tina, the pictures look fantastic! ~Lisa
(04.21.09 @ 02:59 PM)I first met Brittany when she was eight years old. I went to meet my friend Aubrey at her house for a photo shoot and there she was ... the only blonde in the family. I remember thinking how pretty she was going to be when she grew up. I couldn't have been closer to the mark in that prediction. Today she is a beautiful young woman and I never dreamed at the time that I would one day be photographing her wedding. Funny how life works sometimes :-).
Brittany and Stephen are a wonderful couple and I was so glad to be a part of their very special day. I have felt blessed to be able to cover each sister's wedding (Ashley and Aubrey before this) and Bee's was no exception. Brittany comes from a large family - 4 sisters and 3 brothers total - and I just love all of them, including their wonderful parents. Stephen's family was just as wonderful to get to know, very warm and gracious.
Side note: As you view the photos you will think your eyes are playing tricks on you, and in a way they are. For the record, that is not former President George W. Bush, but he sure is a darn good look-alike!! In fact Stephen's father, John Morgan, is a bit of a celebrity himself having taken third place in ABC TV's celebrity reality show, "The Next Best Thing." It really was mind-boggling how much he looked like him.
Brittany and Stephen, it was a beautiful wedding and you two make the cuttest couple. Thank you for your hospitality and for entrusting us as your wedding photographers. Stephen is a videographer and Brittany has always grown up around the camera so photos were extremely important to both of them. It meant a lot that they trusted us to document their special day. Hope you love them and we wish you the very best in life!! Hope you have a chance to stop by and visit while you are out this way :-)!

The pictures are fabulous!! We are so blessed to know you and even more blessed that you are so amazingly talented! haha What would our weddings be without you! Plus I like all these Florida destination weddings! I have seen you more in the last month than I have in the last 5 years..haha Miss you! Aubs
(04.15.09 @ 01:54 AM)I love how you really get in there and close up with your work. It is truly unique!!
(04.17.09 @ 07:32 AM)I am speechless, the pictures are absolutely breath taking! i just love them all. You captured our wedding day so spectacularly! I couldn't be happier. You're work amazes me every time. I thank God for you and your friendship to the family. Stephen and I are so lucky to have a little bit of Sierra Blanco in our lives. Thank you!
