This shoot is the culmination of half a year of planning. The idea was born of a need to do something outside the box. Something very creative, whimsical, full of electric color and very high fashion. We based the theme "loosely" on 'Alice in Wonderland.' This past Sunday we saw it explode to life and we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome!!!
Though we did most of the work ourselves, we did have help from two extraordinary people without whom this shoot never would have happened. They are our Associate Photographer, Angie Gomez, who spent countless hours helping us plan and who donated many great props for the set design and one of our past clients and good friends, Megan Leland (she is 3 months pregnant by the way, congrats again :-),) who is a professional hairstylist and who brought the characters to life through her magical styles! Her artistry far surpassed my wildest expectations! Both Angie and Megan also served as our stunning models, and we mean STUNNING!!
Thanks to everyone who participated in this and made our "dream shoot" come true!! It was a great ride down the rabbit hole :-)!!!

Megan and Jason were married on March 5th, 2011 at the historic Orpheum Lofts Penthouse in downtown Phoenix. This was such a beautiful wedding, full of vintage style! They began their preparations at the San Carlos Hotel, another old, historic building downtown. Megan wore a birdcage veil - very appropriate - and a pair of AWESOME Betsey Johnson shoes!
One note to student photographers out there ... it is considered very poor form, not to mention plain rude, to walk up behind a professional photographer and begin taking photos of a bride and groom on their wedding day, without asking permission from either party!!! This is a very true story and the couple got very upset with this stranger taking the liberty of snapping their photos. What's more, when the groom, and myself, told him in no uncertain terms to stop, he continued to follow us and take more photos. It should go without saying, but this is a GIANT no-no!!
OK, moving on ... the day was amazing and the setting stunning! By the way, as a gift to all his groomsmen, Jason presented each of them with their very own black-powder pistol. I don't know much about guns, but I know enough to know these were very special gifts given to obviously very dear friends! Thank you both so much for having us as your wedding photographers and allowing us to share in your special day ... enjoy the sneak peak!

I loved finally seeing what you two captured! I am, again, in awe of your work. You two are phenomenal!
(03.16.11 @ 04:55 PM)Thank you for making Megan feel so special on our wedding day!
(03.17.11 @ 08:29 PM)I love these photos! They are incredible! Thank you so much for being there to capture our wedding day. The three of you did an amazing job and I can't express enough how happy I am with how the "sneak peak" pictures turned out. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures! I enjoyed the photo shoot and would love to do more. Thanks for helping me feel beautiful.

A couple of years back, we photographed the wedding of a couple named Heather and Matt. Since that time, they have become regular clients of ours as well as really good friends! Well, now we have a new Heather and Matt. They call themselves the "other Heather and Matt" and we love these two just as much ... just seems to be something with those names that we really get along with :-).
Anyhow, the "other Heather and Matt" were married this past Saturday in Scottsdale. Their ceremony took place at Paradise Valley Methodist Church and their reception was held at McCormick Ranch Golf Club. If anyone in Arizona was alive and awake that day, they know that the weather was horrible everywhere, with snow in the high country and a lot of rain in the valley, but that didn't stop this couple from having their perfect day! They went into the dreary day with high hopes for a better outcome later in the afternoon, and if not, they figured, oh well, they would have unique photos of a rainy wedding - something most couples don't see often on their wedding day in Arizona.
Boy, did they ever get unique photos!! It did continue to rain ... but at the same time came the sun and you know what that produces ... big, vibrant, full, double rainbows that dominate the sky!! WOW ... SPECTACULAR!!! Thank you both for having us as your wedding photographers and thanks for trusting in our vision and taking a moment at the end to step outside in the rain for a few more portraits (see photo above) ... told you it would be worth it! Hope you love the sneak peak and have a fabulous time in Thailand!!
Special thanks to Gretchen at Imoni Events, www.imonievents.com , for putting together such a beautiful event, and to our Associate Photographer, Angie, for helping out and getting some great pics :-)!!

The had such a perfect day! These rain and reception shots are amazing!

Kelly and Steve contacted us last spring to do a Trash the Dress Shoot for them. They had recently been married out of state (we didn't photograph their wedding) and while they loved their wedding photos, they felt they were lacking in the "creative couple formals" area. They also wanted to incorporate their adorable bulldog puppy into the shoot ... he was so freakin cute :-)!!! We headed out to the Superstition Mountain Range east of Phoenix and it turned into a super fun, amazing session!

LOVE her dress. The dog is adorable. :) Love your shots (as usual). The water fall was beautiful.
(01.14.11 @ 04:08 PM)Great combination of beautiful nature, weddding dresse, dog and water. Everything looks perfectly!

Caitlin and Dave really wanted a trash the dress shoot along with their package and we are so glad they did!! We headed out to the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix and had an amazing session which, as usual with our trash the dress shoots, ended in water! Thanks you two for trusting us to create these wonderful shots and for following us down every dirt road back there to locate the ever elusive "water trees" :-).

LOVE the shot with her & the church. So amazing!

I LOVE THEM! It was a Looooong day for me, but I made it through with the two of your excitement and with the great company and hard to resist Mrs. Megan! Without the three of you, whoo! I don't think I would have made it. LOL! But man, these came out awesome! Thanks Tina, Kevin, & Megan for these amazing photos!
(03.16.11 @ 05:04 PM)And I thought I was creative!? My son, Jason's marriage to Megan, following these in your blog pictures are wonderful but I have to say the "Alice in Wonderland" layout is extremely sensational. I can see them in a book format as a more adult like fairy-tail. I have spent 2-3 hours studying your pictures taken at various venues. I am a very amateur photographer (use Canon's G-11) and search for hints. "Frankly, after seeing your shots of "our" wedding, I may move some of mine out of the trash and be more adventurous with my editing. Thank you for opening an old ladies eyes to see what could be. Sincerely, Louise Seyfert - Mother of the groom!
(03.16.11 @ 11:59 PM)These photos are amazing!! They belong to a magazine, I can see them in the Italian Vogue :)
(03.20.11 @ 02:35 AM)I love these! Amazing creativity and so well executed! I miss modeling for you!!
